PPCT Defensive Tactics Instructor

This 40-hour PPCT Defensive Tactics Instructor course is the first subject-control system developed through tactical, legal and medical research. Tactically, the system addresses the most common types of resistance that law enforcement personnel encounter, ensuring that participants learn job-related techniques pertaining to self defense.

Legally, the PPCT System teaches a simple use of force continuum which clarifies the appropriate amount of force for every level of resistance. Medical research has been conducted on every PPCT technique to refine its efficiency and to ensure that medical implications are proportional to the level of resistance.

Audience

Participants must be currently commissioned Texas peace officers, licensed security officers or public safety trainers.

Prerequisites and Requirements

Participants should bring handcuffs, duty gear and baton. Physical participation is required. Participant should be in good physical condition.
