Analytical Instruments Series 900 Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer donated by GE
Learn the newest methods for water analysis on a Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analyzer
TEEX now offers training on the most advanced TOC analyzer in the industry, a GE Analytical Instruments Series 900 TOC Analyzer. This analyzer is used for testing organic carbon compounds found in untreated water and for monitoring TOC in drinking water.
Participants in the TEEX Intermediate Water Laboratory course and other courses will have a hands-on opportunity to analyze various water samples to calculate regulatory TOC removal requirements, treatment process efficiency and public health monitoring of drinking water. The portable Series 900 TOC Analyzer will be used in various training courses and demonstrations.
Research has shown that increased amounts of organic compounds in water, when disinfected with chlorine, can cause the formation of disinfection by-products such as trihalomethanes (THMs), which can be carcinogenic. Regulations require that these organics, such as TOC, are monitored to ensure proper treatment to prevent the formation of chloro-organic compounds.
Course participants will take back newly learned TOC analytical skills to their water systems and laboratories, and meet the regulatory requirements for organic monitoring – ultimately ensuring safe drinking water for the citizens of Texas.
