Hone your incident management skills in a realistic, computer-simulation environment like no other.

The Emergency Operations Training Center (EOTC) offers some of the best large-scale emergency and incident management training available anywhere.  The 32,000-square-foot training center uses state-of-the-art simulation and computer-based technologies to train incident managers, supervisors, executives, public officials and military personnel in the management of a large-scale crisis using a unified command approach. The training follows the National Incident Management System as required in the National Response Framework.

The EOTC is operated by the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC), a division of the Texas Engineering Extension Service and a national leader in homeland security planning, training and exercises.

"This is the best class of its kind in the country, with all the participants coming home with a new, tangible skill set in relation to the inter-discipline management of a large-scale, widespread disaster. This professional program provides the participants with the most realistic experience possible."

- Joseph Castro
Battalion Chief
Los Angeles Fire Department

Location allows full-scale functional exercises

The EOTC is located in College Station, Texas, on a 120-acre campus that encompasses two of the top hands-on emergency response training venues in the country – Disaster City® and the Brayton Fire Training Field.  Direct links allow participants within the EOTC to observe hands-on, active response activities in Disaster City®, a mock city with full-scale, collapsible structures used for urban search and rescue training. The EOTC can be configured as an incident command post or emergency operations center for full-scale, functional exercises held on the campus.

Unique simulation training tool
This opportunity to hone incident management skills in a realistic environment is possible through the Emergency Management*Exercise System, or EM*ES, a simulation training tool developed specifically for the EOTC by The Texas A&M University System Engineering Program. The EM*ES simulation can support scenario-driven training and exercise operations involving human “role players” and computer-injected events.  The system can be used in a distributed LAN or WAN network, a web browser mode and stand-alone.  Participants can also be in geographically different locations.
