Description

This blended-learning course is designed to educate jail, correction and detention personnel about human relations skills that will enhance a positive relationship between staff and inmates and between correctional workers and their peers. It will provide the corrections officer with an understanding of basic communications skills and the ability to use those skills effectively, allowing the employee to better control inmate interactions within a jail environment.

Blended-learning
This course is a blended learning course requiring the student to complete not only the on-line portion of training but a short face to face module as well. Once the student has completed the on-line portion of training, they may choose to complete the face to face portion by using a web-camera equipped computer and working with an online proctor or they will be directed to a list of proctors in their area who can assist them with all remaining face to face exercises. Once all exercises have been successfully completed, the student will submit the signed completer form to TEEX. Following submission of the form, the student will then be able to print a certificate of completion.
