The material covers the importance of refrigeration recovery and the recycling of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC), as well as the proper procedures to accomplish the task as mandated by the Prohibition on Venting and the Regulations under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.

Testing

The 2 ½-hour, closed-book exam is conducted immediately after the preparation. The exam consists of four separate sections with 25 questions per section.
The sections are:

  • Core: EPA Rules and Regulations

  • Type III: Servicing Low-Pressure Appliances

To receive Type I, Type II or Type III certification, you MUST pass the Core section.
