This course is designed for anyone involved in the installation and maintenance of high voltage underground electrical systems. At the completion of this course, you have a working knowledge of the different types of underground distribution systems, able to identify the types of cable used in underground distribution, describe proper cable installation procedures, demonstrate proper cable preparation techniques using manufacturers' specifications for splicing and terminating cable, list safe work procedures and demonstrate the proper techniques for isolation and grounding underground cable sections.
Topics covered in the course include:
Anyone with no previous underground electrical training, supervises maintenance crews, or purchases underground supplies and equipment and does not have underground work experience
Optional equipment: Organizations may send their own stripping tools with participants if they wish them to become familiar with their own tools.
