Course Description


INS200 - Fire Instructor II (NFPA 1041) - 40.00 Hours

Prerequisites


Students must provide proof of NFPA 1041 Instructor I certification prior to the start of the class and must meet the requirements of our certification office. Student must present photo I.D. before written test. To receive Pro Board certification, you must successfully complete the required practical assessment and written exam.

Students attending and participating will be required to build a lesson in Power Point format therefore it is highly recommended students have good working knowledge of computers, computer projection equipment, and the use of Microsoft Power Point.

This course is designed to meet the needs of the intermediate-level fire instructor. The course is designed to meet or exceed the elements of NFPA 1041, Chapter 5. The Fire Instructor II course will provide the tools necessary to obtain certification through NPQS (Pro Board) and is designed around classroom lectures and classroom exercises.

Audience

All emergency response personnel, including fire prevention, suppression, control and safety personnel.

Other Information

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be awarded 4.0 Continuing Education Units (CEU) certified through the International Association for Continuing Education & Training. The American Council on Education (ACE) recommends this course for 3 college semester hours.

Course will start at 8:00 a.m. on first day of class.

      INDUSTRIAL Sunday: 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. SPRING AND MUNICIPAL Sunday 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
      INDUSTRIAL Monday - Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. SPRING AND MUNICIPAL 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
      INDUSTRIAL Friday: 7:30 a.m. - until testing finished, SPRING AND MUNICIPAL 8:00 a.m. until testing finished.

    PPE Requirement: Level 0

    Students should bring the same type of clothing as worn on normal duty at their plant, including bunker gear which is NFPA 1971 compliant.

    A late fee of $50.00 will be assessed to payments made after the registration deadline for the Annual Fire School classes.
