Course Description


MGT904 - Intermediate ICS-300 for Expanding Incidents - 20.00 Hours

Prerequisites

The prerequisite courses for ICS 300 are ICS-100, ICS-200, IS-/ICS-700, and IS-/ICS-800.

Description

Intermediate ICS For Expanding Incidents provides training and resources for personnel who require advanced application of the ICS. The course expands upon information covered in the ICS-100 and ICS-200 courses. This course is intended for individuals who may assume a supervisory role in expanding incidents or Type 3 incidents. FEMA recommends that ICS-300 participants have experience using concepts and principles from ICS 100 and 200 in a response or exercise and use their skills in an operational environment before taking ICS-400. This will provide necessary context and understanding of the skills they will develop when they take ICS-400. This course is 18 hours

* ICS Staffing and organization to include: reporting and working relationships and information flow. * Transfer of Command * Unified Command functions in a multi-jurisdictional or multi-agency incident * ICS forms * Resource Management * Interagency mission planning and procurement

Audience

Personnel who require advanced application of the ICS. All Mid-level Management Federal/State/Local/Tribal/Private Sector & Nongovernmental personnel to include should take ICS-300, including: Persons serving as command staff, section chiefs, strike team leaders, task force leaders, unit leaders, division/group supervisors, branch directors, and multi-agency coordination system/emergency operations center staff.
