Course Description


IMS700 - Introduction to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS-700 (FEMA) - 4.00 Hours

Description

This training is an awareness-level course that explains NIMS components, concepts and principles. The course examines how jurisdictions plan, prepare for, organize and respond to major incidents and events. Participants are also taught the principals of how resources are managed before, during and after an incident.

    Local, state and federal responders requiring entry level training from the following disclipines/services:

  • Fire Service
  • Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
  • Hazardous Materials (HazMat)
  • Law Enforcement (LE)
  • Public Health (PH)
  • Public Works (PW)
  • Emergency Management (EM)
  • Government administrative
  • Private Sector and military (if invited by the host jurisdiction)
  • County, state, and federal agency personnel who will respond with a local jurisdiction during a WMD/terrorism incident
  • Other Information

    This course is the FEMA curriculum for the IS-700 course.

    Instructor qualifications: ALL TEEX NIMS/ICS instructors are certified Department of Homeland Security NIMS/ICS instructors and meet/exceed all requirements to teach the IS-700 course and proctor the IS-700 examination.
