Course Description


IMS100 - FEMA Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS-100) - 8.00 Hours

Prerequisites

Participants should be entry level, or on scene personnel who work in one of the following emergency response categories listed under Audience

Description

This course describes the history, features and principals , and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. It also explains the relationship between ICS and the National Incident management System (NIMS). In providing this training we use the FEMA ICS-100 "Facilitators Guide", student manual, and examination.

Purpose of ICS, Basic Features of ICS, Incident Commander and Command Staff functions, ICS Facilities

Audience

  • Entry level personnel or personnel from the following disciplines/services
  • Fire Service
  • Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
  • Hazardous Materials (HazMat)
  • Law Enforcement (LE)
  • Public Health (PH)
  • Public Works (PW)
  • Emergency Management (EM)
  • Government administrative
  • Private Sector and military (if invited by the host jurisdiction)
  • County, state, and federal agency personnel who will respond with a
    local jurisdiction during a WMD/terrorism incident

P>Instructor qualifications: ALL TEEX NIMS/ICS instructors are certified Department of Homeland Security NIMS/ICS instructors and meet/exceed all requirements to teach the ICS-100 course and proctor the ICS-100 examination.
