Texas Meter School starts Oct. 26
  More than 150 metering personnel from the electric power industry are expected to attend the 2009 Southwest Electrical Metering Association’s (SWEMA) Texas Meter School the week of Oct. 26-30 at the Texas A&M Riverside Campus in Bryan.

ECLOX protocols used to detect toxins in drinking water
  Protecting and monitoring the quality of the state's drinking water supply is the goal of a joint effort by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and TEEX. TCEQ turned to the TEEX Water and Wastewater Program to establish baseline data for 24 public water systems in Texas, and to develop a protocol for effectively measuring possible contaminants with ECLOX monitoring equipment.

Staying Alive: Teaching emergency responders to avoid becoming victims
  All too often, we read headlines about police officers, firefighters or other emergency responders being seriously injured or killed while working a roadside accident. To improve responder and accident-scene safety, TEEX delivered free training to 180 first responders from around the state in September.

TEEX/SWEMA Host Annual Texas Meter School
 

The Texas Engineering Extension Service and the Southwest Electrical Metering Association (SWEMA) hosted the Annual Utility Electrical Metering School Oct. 30 – Nov. 3, teaching 165 students the latest in electrical metering technologies.

  TEEX is helping cities in the Mexican states of Tamaulipas and Baja California to improve drinking water quality and capacity through training utility administrators to conduct water system evaluations.
