Texas Workforce Commission grants TEEX $4.2 million for emergency services training
  The Texas Workforce Commission has approved a $4.2 million grant for TEEX to provide emergency services training to more than 1,600 Texas workers. The funds will be used to train employees from eight companies at 24 locations in Texas through the TEEX Emergency Services Energy Consortium Training Project. Thirty courses will be offered in industrial firefighting, rescue, HazMat, emergency medical services and leadership training.

NFPA 472 Flammable Bulk Storage specialty certification offered
  TEEX's Emergency Services Training Institute is the first training organization to offer Pro Board certification for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 472, Annex E Flammable Bulk Storage specialty, following an extension of accreditation from the National Board of Professional Qualifications (Pro Board).

WMD operations training offered to paramedics at Blinn, Victoria colleges
  TEEX is reaching out to Emergency Medical Services programs at community colleges to offer new Emergency Medical Technicians and paramedics some basic training in operations and planning for weapons of mass destruction (WMD) incidents.

TEEX Municipal Fire School draws 2,000+ firefighters
  The final week of the Texas Engineering Extension Service’s three weeks of summer fire training schools began today with 2,138 students and 456 guest instructors in attendance.

Firefighting demonstration set for July 22
  The public is invited to a firefighting demonstration on July 22, sponsored by the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) in conjunction with its 80th Annual Municipal Fire Training School at the Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station.

TEEX Industrial Fire School begins
  Exactly 466 firefighters from refineries and other industries from across the country have begun a week of training at Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station. The 47th annual Industrial Fire School will last through Friday.

Qatar Petroleum & TEEX collaborate on Ras Laffan Emergency & Safety Training College
  TEEX is collaborating with state-owned Qatar Petroleum to build a premier emergency services training facility in Ras Laffan, Qatar, to serve emergency responders from throughout the Middle East and North Africa. The Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety Training College is situated on 200 acres and is expected to be completed in 2010.

Campus law enforcement association calls on TEEX for course development
  The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, Inc. (IACLEA) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with TEEX's Emergency Services Training Institute to develop and support a new command-level critical incident management course.
